When I created my first blog, it was just a school project—unplanned, spontaneous, and without much intention. My second blog, which eventually grew into its own website, was born out of a desire to learn WordPress, CSS, and web development for my job. I shaped it around something I enjoyed, using it as a personal playground for experimentation.
This time is different.
Sakura Season(ing) is the first project I’ve poured my full heart into. Every element—name, logo, tagline—was chosen with care. I spent countless hours circling ideas, refining them, tossing them out, and starting again. Eventually, the right vision crystallized: a wordmark that nods to the past, evoking the handwritten recipes of our elders and the typed ones that followed. It’s a blend of old and new, tradition and invention—just like the recipes I aim to share.
I’m deeply drawn to Asian aesthetics, particularly the delicate beauty of sakura, or cherry blossoms. There’s something quietly powerful about them—ephemeral, elegant, seasonal. And so, the name Sakura Season(ing) came into bloom. A whimsical play on flavor and time, with a logo that imagines a saltshaker releasing a flurry of cherry blossoms—a visual fusion of taste and tradition.
This project has been marinating in my imagination since 2021. And now, after four years of dreaming, doubting, and designing—I’ve taken the leap. There’s still a long journey ahead, full of learning curves and creative pivots. But little by little, it’s coming to life.
I’m so glad you’re here.
Welcome to Sakura Season(ing)—a celebration of ideas, whimsy, flavor, and adaptation. May your visit feel like a walk along soft petals, strewn across the path of discovery.
